This policy covers the personal information practices of DownUnder Web Services, operator of the DownUnder WP hosting platform.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide when creating an account: your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash). We also collect payment details via Stripe (we never store card numbers), and technical information about your hosted sites (domain, region, container status).

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to provide the hosting service, process payments, send transactional emails (deployment confirmations, billing notices, support replies), and operate our infrastructure. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Storage

Your account data is stored on Australian servers. Your WordPress site data (databases, files) resides on our own servers in the city region you select. All storage is within Australia or Singapore (for the Singapore region).

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe - payment processing (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
• Postmark - transactional email delivery
• iDrive E2 - backup storage

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

Your Rights

Under Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. Account deletion removes all associated containers, databases, and personal data.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active. Upon cancellation, your data is deleted within 30 days. Billing records required for financial compliance are retained for 7 years.
