For cafés, restaurants and venues

WordPress hosting for
hospitality

Cafés, restaurants, pubs and bars, bakeries, caterers, food trucks, breweries, wineries, function venues. Nearly every visit to your site is one of two questions - are you open, and what's on the menu - asked on a phone, often by someone standing on the footpath outside. Everything else is secondary to answering those two in about three seconds.

What hospitality actually need from a host

Not a feature list. The three things that decide whether your site helps you or embarrasses you.

Two questions, answered in one thumb-scroll

Opening hours and the menu are what people came for. Both should be readable text on the page, not a PDF that downloads and then pinches to zoom - a PDF menu is the single most common reason someone gives up and picks the place next door.

You change the hours, not your designer

Christmas Eve at eleven at night is exactly when the public holiday hours need changing, and that is not the moment to be emailing whoever built the site. It is WordPress - you log in and edit it, from your phone if you have to.

Food photography without the slow load

Hospitality sites are heavy: a gallery of the room, the plates and the function space adds up fast. Your container is yours alone, on NVMe storage, and we cap and clean up the image processing that quietly fills a server's disk on sites like yours.

Everything a hospitality site usually has to do

All of it runs on a $5 plan. WordPress plugins do the work; we keep the thing they run on fast, patched and backed up.

  • Menus as real pages, not downloadable PDFs
  • Opening hours, including public holidays
  • Table bookings, or a link into your booking system
  • Location, parking and a map
  • Function and catering enquiry forms
  • Photos of the room, the food and the space
  • Links out to your online ordering or delivery partners
Where your data lives

Your site, your booking enquiries and your function leads sit in Australian data centres, on hardware we run. Nothing takes a detour overseas on the way to your inbox.

Need more than a small site?

Every site runs in its own container, and when yours needs more we build a custom one to fit - so you never pay for resources you don't use.

Running a bigger site?

A busy online store, a marketplace or a site with lots of people logging in needs more room - even when it's quiet. We'll build it a container to fit, from $5 a month extra.

FAQ

Hospitality - questions we get asked

Can I update the menu myself?

Yes, and you should. It is WordPress - you log in, edit the page, save. No waiting on a designer to swap a PDF, which is why so many venue sites are still showing last winter's menu.

Can I take bookings on the site?

Yes, either with a WordPress booking plugin or by embedding whatever system you already use. If you are on a booking platform your regulars know, keep it - the site's job is to get them there, not to replace it.

What about public holiday hours?

You edit them yourself, from your phone if it is eleven at night on Christmas Eve. That is exactly the moment nobody can reach their web person, and it is the single most common reason a venue's hours are wrong online.

What exactly do I get with a "container"?

Your own isolated Docker container running Nginx, PHP-FPM, and WordPress. It's not shared hosting where you're competing with hundreds of other sites for the same WordPress installation. Your container has its own filesystem, its own database user, its own SSL, and its own NVMe storage. You can reboot it, redeploy it, or destroy it from your dashboard without asking anyone.

Do you back up my site?

We offer an optional Daily Backups add-on that takes a daily off-site snapshot of your full WordPress site (files plus database), keeps 7 days of history, and lets you download or one-click restore from your dashboard. You can add it at any time from your dashboard - we never silently charge for it. We strongly recommend it for any production site.

We also recommend exporting your WordPress content periodically yourself (Tools → Export in WP-Admin) and keeping copies offsite. Pricing for the add-on is shown on our website and in your dashboard.

Will you move my existing site over for me?

Yes, and it doesn't cost anything - it's included on both plans, and there is no setup fee, no migration fee and no minimum term attached to it. Tell us where the site is now and give us access, and we'll bring the files and the database across, get it running on our servers, check it over, and only then tell you exactly when to change your DNS. Your existing site stays up and serving visitors the entire time, so there's no window where your site is offline while we work.

While we're in there we'll set Cloudflare up for you as well, if you want it - free CDN, caching and DDoS protection in front of your site. That's also included, and also something we just do rather than something you buy.

If you'd rather move it yourself, you can: the dashboard has import tools that take the common WordPress backup formats, including All-in-One WP Migration and Duplicator archives. Either way, the answer to "what does the move cost" is nothing.

Do you offer a free trial?

No free trial, but the cost to try it is $5. If it's not right for you within the first month, email us and we'll refund it - no questions asked.
