For the trades

WordPress hosting for
tradies

Sparkies, plumbers, chippies, builders, landscapers, concreters, roofers. Your website has one job: get the phone to ring. It needs to load instantly on a phone with two bars of signal in someone's driveway, show the work you've done, and make it obvious how to call you. That's it. You should not be spending a Sunday night wondering whether your host has patched anything.

What tradies actually need from a host

Not a feature list. The three things that decide whether your site helps you or embarrasses you.

It has to be fast on a phone, on mobile data

Most of your visitors are on a phone, often on patchy reception, and most of them are ringing three trades before they pick one. A site hosted overseas adds a couple of hundred milliseconds to every single request. Ours sit in Australian data centres on NVMe storage, close to the people searching for you.

Photo galleries that do not grind to a halt

Job photos straight off a phone are enormous, and a gallery of forty of them is what kills most trade websites. Your container is yours alone, so a heavy gallery page is not competing with a hundred other sites for the same CPU - and we cap and clean up the image processing that usually fills a server's disk.

Nobody to ring at 7pm because the site is down

You are on the tools all day. When something breaks you want it fixed, not a ticket number. We manage the servers, the security and the backups, and when you do get in touch you are talking to someone who can actually go and look.

Everything a tradie site usually has to do

All of it runs on a $5 plan. WordPress plugins do the work; we keep the thing they run on fast, patched and backed up.

  • Quote and enquiry forms that reliably reach your inbox
  • Before-and-after job galleries
  • Service area pages for the suburbs you cover
  • Google reviews embedded on the homepage
  • Click-to-call buttons that work on every phone
  • A licence or accreditation number in the footer
Where your data lives

Your site and its database sit in Australian data centres, on hardware we run. Your customers' enquiries do not take a detour through Virginia on the way to your inbox.

Need more than a small site?

Every site runs in its own container, and when yours needs more we build a custom one to fit - so you never pay for resources you don't use.

Running a bigger site?

A busy online store, a marketplace or a site with lots of people logging in needs more room - even when it's quiet. We'll build it a container to fit, from $5 a month extra.

FAQ

Tradies - questions we get asked

Will my site work properly on a phone?

That is mostly down to your theme rather than your host, but the hosting decides how fast it arrives. Ours sit on NVMe storage in Australian data centres, so someone standing in a driveway on mobile data gets your number on screen in about a second instead of waiting on a server in Texas.

Can I put a hundred job photos on it?

Yes. Storage is real storage and your container is not shared with anyone. Photos straight off a phone are enormous though, so we cap and clean up the image processing that usually fills a server's disk - which is the normal way a busy trade gallery takes a site down.

Who fixes it if it goes down on a Saturday?

We do. We watch the servers, and if something is wrong at our end it is our problem to solve, not yours to diagnose. Open a ticket from your dashboard and you are talking to someone who can go and look at the actual machine.

What exactly do I get with a "container"?

Your own isolated Docker container running Nginx, PHP-FPM, and WordPress. It's not shared hosting where you're competing with hundreds of other sites for the same WordPress installation. Your container has its own filesystem, its own database user, its own SSL, and its own NVMe storage. You can reboot it, redeploy it, or destroy it from your dashboard without asking anyone.

Do you back up my site?

We offer an optional Daily Backups add-on that takes a daily off-site snapshot of your full WordPress site (files plus database), keeps 7 days of history, and lets you download or one-click restore from your dashboard. You can add it at any time from your dashboard - we never silently charge for it. We strongly recommend it for any production site.

We also recommend exporting your WordPress content periodically yourself (Tools → Export in WP-Admin) and keeping copies offsite. Pricing for the add-on is shown on our website and in your dashboard.

Will you move my existing site over for me?

Yes, and it doesn't cost anything - it's included on both plans, and there is no setup fee, no migration fee and no minimum term attached to it. Tell us where the site is now and give us access, and we'll bring the files and the database across, get it running on our servers, check it over, and only then tell you exactly when to change your DNS. Your existing site stays up and serving visitors the entire time, so there's no window where your site is offline while we work.

While we're in there we'll set Cloudflare up for you as well, if you want it - free CDN, caching and DDoS protection in front of your site. That's also included, and also something we just do rather than something you buy.

If you'd rather move it yourself, you can: the dashboard has import tools that take the common WordPress backup formats, including All-in-One WP Migration and Duplicator archives. Either way, the answer to "what does the move cost" is nothing.

Do you offer a free trial?

No free trial, but the cost to try it is $5. If it's not right for you within the first month, email us and we'll refund it - no questions asked.
